Following last year’s success and its continued commitment to supporting South Asian filmmakers, IFFLA 2025 will transform Industry Day into a two-day event. This expansion will offer new opportunities for industry networking and the chance to win a $10,000 Competition Grant.

Today, the program highlights a diverse selection of South Asian films from various countries alongside international co-productions from Norway, Singapore, and France.

IFFLA 2025 will showcase 27 films, including seven feature-length narratives, one documentary, 18 short films, and a special two-episode screening of an anthology series.

The festival will feature two world premieres, six North American premieres, three U.S. premieres, and 14 Los Angeles premieres, presenting a vibrant mix of emerging voices and unique initiatives.

Central to this year’s lineup is Sabar Bonda (Cactus Pears), which recently claimed the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance. Rohan Kanawade’s debut feature offers a bold and insightful exploration of queer intimacy in the face of India’s stringent societal expectations.

Another highlight is the North American premiere of The Fable, directed by Raam Reddy (Thithi), a suspenseful drama starring Manoj Bajpayee as an estate owner facing the mystery of fires that threaten his property. The film also features an impressive cast, with Priyanka Bose, Tillotama Shome, and Deepak Dobriyal in key roles.

A Fly on the Wall, directed by Nilesh Maniyar and Shonali Bose (Margarita with a Straw), presents an intimate and poignant exploration of a man asserting his autonomy in his final moments.

IFFLA 2025 will feature the Los Angeles premiere of DUI Shaw, a psychological drama by Bangladeshi filmmaker Nuhash Humayun, which fuses supernatural horror with the harsh realities of South Asia. Following the screening, the filmmaker, an alum of IFFLA shorts, will lead an insightful masterclass.
