Cricketer Harbhajan Singh and his wife Geeta Basra have decided to distribute ration to as many as 5000 families in Jalandhar, India amid the Covid-19 crisis.
For the last one month or so, you might have been witnessing that not just the country but the entire world has been going through the Covid-19 pandemic.
The virus has infected hundreds of people across the globe. There is no single country which has not been affected due to this virus.
In spite of people taking their best measures, the covid-19 pandemic is giving no signs to go back. Instead, we have to see a constant surge in the fresh number of cases every day.
In India, PM Modi had no option but to announce the complete lock down of the country not only to safeguard the lives of hundreds of people but also to break the chain of the infection due to this virus.
At present, this is the only solution to defeat the infection due to the dreaded effects of corona virus.
That’s the reason why the PM has himself announced for all the citizens to stay at their homes and do not even try to go outside of their homes.
Amid the ongoing crisis, you can witness hundreds of celebrities pledging a number of ways to help the needy.
In the past, we have seen how Bollywood celebrities Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan decided to donate crores of rupees to the PM relief fund.

Just now, cricketer Harbhajan Singh and his wife Geeta Basra have decided to feed as many as 5000 families in their hometown Jalandhar, India.
This is what Harbhajan posted on his Instagram account, âBy the blessings of the Almighty, Geeta and I pledge to distribute ration to 5000 families residing in Jalandhar, who are struggling to feed their families during these difficult times. We will continue to help and support our fellow citizens in whichever way we can to lessen the burden of struggle,â he posted. Â Bolly4u
Just like Harbhajan, wife Geeta Basra also posted, âBy Gods grace, @harbhajan_singh and I are distributing the necessary ration to 5000 families across Jalandhar who struggling to make ends meet during this difficult time. If you wish to find the details of what the cricker has pledged, please take a look into this, âWe are distributing 5kg of rice, flour, oil and other essential cooking ingredients. This endeavour will continue for the time being. I am still very attached to Jalandhar as I divide my time between Mumbai and Jalandhar. A part of me resides there and I canât see my own people suffer. Cricket has given me a lot and this is the least I could do.â
âI wanted to ensure that if I am able to help, it should reach people directly and thanks to Punjab Police and my childhood friends, we have started off well. But a lot of work still needs to be done,â added Harbhajan.
Well, this is a great gesture that both Harbhajan and Geeta have decided to do for all the needy out there.
