Brian Tyree Henry discusses his role as Megatron in Transformers One, an animated prequel that delves into the early connection between Optimus Prime and Megatron. Featuring a talented cast that includes Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson, Henry points out the imaginative aspects of voice acting in animation. The film is now showing in different formats in theaters throughout India.

Brian Tyree Henry, famous for his role in Eternals, describes his experience on Transformers One as an exhilarating journey that enabled him to explore his creativity and express emotions through voice acting.

Well-known for his performances in films such as Widows, If Beale Street Could Talk, Godzilla vs. Kong, and Bullet Train, as well as the series Atlanta, Henry lends his voice to this animated feature, which debuted in Indian cinemas last week.

“Animation happens to offer the most thrilling and unpredictable journey. It’s wonderful because you get to shape the characters entirely through your voice. It engages a different facet of your being as an actor, as you have to set aside your ego.

Even though they only require your vocal talent, you’re still tapping into a wide range of emotions and personal experiences,” the actor stated in a virtual interview with PTI.

Transformers One serves as a prelude to the earlier live-action installments of the franchise, which depict the ongoing battle between two factions of alien robots, the Autobots and the Decepticons, who can transform into vehicles and machinery.

Alongside Henry, the film boasts an impressive voice cast including Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm.

Promoted as the “first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie,” it delves into the previously untold narrative of the friendship between Optimus Prime (voiced by Hemsworth) and Megatron before they became bitter rivals and leaders of opposing factions.

Henry noted that the animated format provides endless creative possibilities, emphasizing the freedom it offers in storytelling.

Transformers One, produced by Paramount Pictures India, is currently screening in theaters in English and Hindi, and can be enjoyed in 2D, 3D, 4DX, and IMAX formats.
