As per the latest Hollywood news, Hollywood studio Paramount Players has recently picked up ‘Orphan: First Kill’ for distribution in the US.
The film is going to be a prequel to 2009 released ‘Orphan’ that originally featured actors like Peter Sarsgaard and Vera Farmiga in their respective pivotal roles.
The report says that Isabelle Fuhrman will reprise her role of Esther in the upcoming film which is currently being directed by William Brent Bell. It also states that both Dark Castle and EOne have jointly co-financed the prequel.
Please note that David Coggeshall has written the film that stars Leena Klammer in the lead role. He plays the character of a 9 year old named Esther Coleman in his first project.

‘Orphan: First Kill’ also expects to star Morgan Giraudet, Matthew Finlan, Jade Michael, Hiro Kanagawa, Rossif Sutherland and Julia Stiles in their respective pivotal roles.

Orphan: First Kill is an Orphan movie prequel and is based on David Coggeshall’s screenplay.
The film will be a prequel to the 2009 film Orphan. Orphan: First Kill is slated to release by Paramount Pictures.
It was in September 2021 when it was announced that Paramount Players have acquired the much awaited U.S. distribution rights to release the film under their banner.
Although, no official date has been announced to release the film, but it looks evident that Orphan 2 will be released in 2022.
The original Orphan movie was released in 2009. The Orphan 2009 starred Vera Farmiga, Peter Sarsgaard, Isabelle Fuhrman, CCH Pounder and Jimmy Bennett in their respective pivotal roles.
