As per the latest update, actors like Terrence Howard, Andre Holland, Lance Reddick and Lucas Hedges have joined the star cast of American Oscar winner Regina King in the upcoming biographical drama titled ‘Shirley’.
John Ridley is going to direct ‘Shirley’ that will star Regina King as political icon Shirley Chisholm. The sources say that Shirley is going to be produced by Regina King’s Royal Ties Productions and is expected to finally stream online at Netflix.
Lucas Hedges, Lance Reddick Join Star Cast of Regina King-starrer ‘Shirley’
Shirley is going to be an upcoming biographical drama that will star some renowned actors like Terrence Howard, Andre Holland, Lance Reddick and Lucas Hedges.
The film is expected to witness an exclusive conversation with the family friends of Chisholm following her historic presidential campaign.
The biographical drama will also have the presence of some other actors like W Earl Brown, Amirah Vann, Dorian Missick, Michael Cherrie and Christina Jackson. The audience is also expected to witness the performance of new-comer Ethan Jones Romero.
But officially, there is no information provided by the makers regarding the respective roles to be played by the ones who joined the star cast at the later stage.
“Shirley” is going to be produced by John Ridley who’s a well known American showrunner, novelist, director and screenwriter. He’s working for the last 12 years.

John Ridley is the American showrunner, novelist, director and screenwriter. He’s the author of as many as 7 published novels so far. His latest novel is titled, ‘what fire cannot burn from warner books’. He has also published yet another novel in the recent past titled ‘The Drift from Knopf’.
Ridley’s first novel titled ‘Stray Dogs’ was so impressive that it was decided to convert it into a feature film titled U Turn.
It was released in 1997. The film was directed by Oliver Stone and starred actors like Nick Nolte, Jennifer Lopez and Sean Penn in their respective pivotal roles.
Apart from writing novels and all, Ridley is also known to have written, produced and directed the popular TV show titled Barbershop (2005). It was formerly on Showtime.
