Zakir Khan Sets Record As First Indian Hindi Comedian to Perform @ Madison Square Garden

Zakir Khan is making waves with his sole performance across the globe. It’s because hew has achieved a remarkable feat. It all happened when Zakir Khan became the first Indian comedian to perform a Hindi-language show as the headliner at Madison Square Garden.

Khan, a 37 year old guy comes from Indore who’s also known by another name “sakht launda” on the humerous side. During his performance at the world event, he entertained a sold-out crowd of 6,000, establishing a new chapter in the world of comedy.

Zakir Khan took to his Instagram handle and captured his emotional moment, calling the day “big”. He later shared the entire thrill of performing Hindi comedy for a packed crowd of 6,000. He expressed gratitude to his friends and team, calling it a “special milestone” in his journey as a comedian.

In relation to his iconic North America tour, Zakir Khan headlined a Hindi comedy show at Madison Square Garden alongside Tanmay Bhat. Featuring observational humor, and performance captivated the crowd.

Prior to the show, his poster appeared in Times Square, and he spoke to leading US media about performing in Hindi on such a prestigious stage. He also took part in a playful cooking session with celebrity chef Vikas Khanna.

In his Fox 5 New York interaction, Khan shared that MSG was far from his plans. “It felt like a place reserved for big movie stars, not a boy from Indore. But sometimes life exceeds all expectations,” he concluded.

Rising to fame in 2012 via Comedy Central’s India’s Best Stand-Up, Zakir Khan is celebrated for his relatable storytelling and distinct “sakht launda” persona. Often representing the ordinary man, he has amassed a huge fan base both in India and internationally, establishing his dominance in the comedy circuit.

Expanding his creative portfolio beyond stage comedy, Zakir Khan has released several popular specials, including ‘Chacha Vidhayak Hain Humare’, ‘Tathastu,’ and ‘Haq Se Single.’

Zakir Khan earlier accomplishments feature being the first Asian comedian to perform solo at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2023, in addition to shows at world-famous venues such as the Sydney Opera House.
