But I was deeply unhappy, and I actually really resented my life because I didn’t like the projects that I was a part of,” McCurdy stated in an interview. The actress has a different story to tell which is the reason why she left acting. In an interview, McCurdy stated that she felt motivated by the way people used to give her all the attention through her on screen presence. For example, the shows she was a part of was loved by people of all ages including kids.
But the only regret she has even today is that she was never able to identify herself in the roles offered to her. McCurdy also stated that it was a bit difficult for her to take the decision, especially by looking at people’s love towards her work.
This is what she has to say, “It’s a difficult thing to say because the shows that I was on were so loved by so many people and so many kids, and I hear constantly, ‘You made my childhood.’ And I think that’s great that they had that experience. But that just was not my experience, and I felt a lot of shame that I wasn’t able to identify at the time because I didn’t like waltzing onto an over-lit, cheesy set and shouting a line.
