Mohanlal Announced As Recipient of Dadasaheb Phalke Award

Do you remember the dialogue “Nee Po Mone Dinesha“? This particular one has been vibrating across Kerala ever since Mohanlal’s explosive performance in Narasimham.

On Saturday, the veteran actor Mohanlal was bestowed with the 2023 Dadasaheb Phalke Award, honoring his iconic contribution to Indian films.

After the recomendations of the concerned ministry, it was named Mohanlal as the Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner. This is what Ministry has to say, “Mohanlal’s cinematic journey continues to inspire future gemerations.

It further stated, adding that his unmatched skill, versatility, and dedication created a golden benchmark in Indian film history. The award will be handed over on September 23 at the 71st National Film Awards.

It was such an occasion where PM Narendra Modi himself congratulated Mohanlal on his remarkable achievement. He chose X to congratulate the actor and stated that he has made the Malayalam cinema so powerful with his strength and dedication by working for decades.

Mohanlal, in his reply, dedicated the honour to all his well-wishers and supporters, writing, “Truly humbled to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award….”

 

Mohanlal started his cinematic career from Thiranottam (1978). Earlier, he debuted from a film titled Manjil Virinja Pookkal (1980).where he performed as a villian.

By 1986, Rajavinte Makan had elevated him to Malayalam cinema’s first modern superstar. With more than four decades and 400 films behind him, he endures as Mollywood’s most iconic figure.
