A bailable warrant has been issued to Bollywood queen Kangana Ranaut for not appearing in the court against the defamation case filed by lyricist Javed Akhtar.
As per the order issued by the Andheri court, it had already issued a summon to the actress on February 1 to appear in the court on March 1. Also Read: Twitter War Between Pooja Bhatt & Kangana Ranaut Continues Over Nepotism
But the actress didn’t appear in the court despite the summon issued to her earlier. Today, the metropolitan magistrate R.R. Khan issued a bailable warrant directing the actress to appear before the court on March 26 instead.
It all happened when Javed Akhtar had lodged a complaint against Kangana stating that the actress had defamed his name by connecting him with Sushant Singh Rajput murder case. Also Read: Twitter Suspends Kangana Ranaut’s Sister Rangoli Chandel’s Account
Rizwan Siddiquee who is the advocate of of the actress was present in the court to present the matter on her behalf. He gave the reason that all the legal formalities done against Kangana are bad in law. This means the very procedure that was followed at the time of issuing the summon was itself not according to the law.
Rizwan Siddiquee has now decided to file a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking to intervene in this case originally filed by Akhtar’s advocate Vrinda Grover. Also Read: Kangana Ranaut Slams Swara Bhasker For Supporting Karan Johar Over Nepotism
He simply wants to challenge the entire procedure followed by him to make her appear before the court following a procedure which itself is not justified legally.
Reacting to the above, the advocate of Javed Akhtar stated that even if the entire procedure followed by him for issuing summons was not legally correct, the actress still had to appear before the court as directed by the constitutional body.
While Javed Akhtar’s advocate is trying to make her appear before the court, Kangana’s advocate simply wants to challenge the whole thing to the higher court. Well, it seems the legal battle will continue until the court hears the matter again.
