As Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni approach their March 2026 trial, their legal conflict continues to escalate, with both sides unveiling videos, voice recordings, and message screenshots.
A voice message from actor and director Justin Baldoni to his lead actress surfaced online on Tuesday morning, quickly going viral.
The voice message, allegedly sent in April 2023 and obtained by the Daily Mail, shows the director responding to a creative difference. In the heartfelt note, Baldoni apologizes to the actress and thanks her for being honest during their mutual partnership.
“Hey, Blake… I hope this doesn’t wake you up,” Baldoni says in the voice message he sent at 2 a.m.”
“I’ve got a lot I want to tell you, and I hope we can FaceTime or catch up in person soon… for now, I’ll send you a few thoughts.”

Recognizing her concerns, Baldoni opened with an apology, saying, “I want to begin by apologizing.” He then added, “I know I fell short, and you put so much work into that, and the way you explained it, and how it affected you…”
He again decideed to reinforce his accountability, stating, “I want you to know that I’m always willing to own up and apologize when I fall short.” He added, “I’m not perfect by any means…”
“I have my flaws, and my wife can vouch for that. I’ll mess up, say things I shouldn’t, and put my foot in my mouth… but I’ll always own up to it, apologize, and find my way back.”
In the message, Baldoni also mentioned a personal encounter at Lively’s New York City penthouse, where her husband Ryan Reynolds and friend Taylor Swift were in attendance.

Baldoni mentioned that during the visit, Swift expressed admiration for Lively’s script revisions, while Lively made a playful comparison to the Game of Thrones character Khaleesi.
She also referred to her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and close friend Taylor Swift as “titans” and “dragons,” noting how they staunchly defend her.
Baldoni expresses his excitement about their collaboration, praising Lively for her script revisions. “The edits are fantastic, and they’re going to make the movie truly shine, just as you envisioned,” he notes.
The message wrapped up on a positive note, as Baldoni expressed deep appreciation for Lively’s trust and sent his warm regards to Reynolds. “It really means a lot that you opened up to me. I’m excited for more time together,” he said.
The timing of the leaked voice note aligns with Lively’s legal team requesting a gag order against Bryan Freedman, Baldoni’s attorney. In response, Freedman issued a statement pointing out the “irony” that Lively is trying to suppress the truth.
“We just want the public to see the real text messages that disprove her allegations, the video footage showing no harassment occurred, and all the other strong evidence that directly challenges these unfounded claims.”
It all happened when Blake had to file a lawsuit on New Year’s Eve in New York, accusing Justin, his production company, and others of sexual harassment and reputational harm, while requesting damages that have not been specified.
This month, Baldoni filed a lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, claiming defamation and extortion, and seeking damages of no less than $400 million.
