Eva Longoria, Eugenio Derbez to Star In YA Adaptation ‘Aristotle and Dante’

Eva Longoria and Eugenio Derbez are going to star in the film titled ‘Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe’ which is based on the coming-of-age young adult novel by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. It will be produced by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

As per the source, the lead roles in the film will be played by Reese Gonzales and Max Pelayo. Others starring in the film include Kevin Alejandro, Luna Blaise, Isabella Gomez and Veronica Falcón in their respective supporting roles.

The film happens to be the directorial debut of Aitch Alberto who has taken the film from the novel by Benjamin Alire Sáenz.

The film basically revolves around the friendship of Dante Quintana and Aristotle “Ari” Mendoza who are two American Mexican boys who are known to make a life changing bonding with each other after meeting at El Paso pool in the year 1987.

The financial part of this film is going to be handled by Limelight which is served as the outfit behind palm springs. It will also produce alongside Big Swing and 3Pas Studios Productions in the association with Boies Schiller Entertainment.

Derbez was recently featured in appeared in Apple’s Sundance winner CODA alongside Marlee Matlin.

On the other hand, Longoria is known to have represented by WME, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Jackoway Austen. As per reports, she was behind the camera for her latest featured directional debut Flamin’ Hot, for Searchlight.

Alberto is repped by attorney Mark Temple and Verve was a writer on on Duster, from J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan for HBO Max and Warner Bros.
