Mumbai: Celebrating 10 Years in Acting, Bhumi Pednekar Embraces Her Dream and Seeks Roles That Challenge Norms and Foster Creativity
Starting as an assistant casting director at Yash Raj Films, Pednekar made her acting debut with the studio’s 2015 film ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha
“Helmed by Sharat Katariya, the film challenged Bollywood’s usual romantic norms by presenting a touching story about an overweight woman and her reluctant spouse.
Now, ten years later, the actor shared her appreciation for the constant love and support she has experienced over the years.”
“For the past 10 years, I’ve been living my dream as an actor. Every morning, I wake up and have to remind myself that this is truly happening. My audience has been a constant source of strength through all my ups and downs. Their love and faith in me have carried me through every moment of my journey,” Pednekar told PTI at the Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI 2025.
Bhumi Pednekar followed her debut with notable performances in critically acclaimed films like Bhakshak, Badhaai Do, Saand Ki Aankh, Bala, and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.
As she moves forward, the actor aims to push her limits and question societal norms through her choice of roles.”
