Citadel Spinoff Series Paused Until Season 2 Launch; Filming for Season 2 Concluded Last November
Citadel 2, starring Priyanka Chopra, has been postponed from its planned release this year. The Hollywood Reporter also notes that all spinoff series of the spy action franchise are currently on hold.

Priyanka Chopra’s Citadel Postponed, Won’t Release This Year
According to the report, Amazon MGM plans to delay the show’s release to “spring 2026.”
Please note that all spinoff series are currently on hold “until the second season is released, or possibly indefinitely.” Reports also suggest that Amazon MGM is “dissatisfied with the progress of season two so far.”
Citadel Season One
The first season of Citadel, which debuted on April 28, 2023, featured Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden in lead roles.
Comprising six episodes, it was recognized as one of the costliest TV productions to date. The ensemble cast also included Rahul Kohli, Roland Møller, Ashleigh Cummings, Lesley Manville, and Stanley Tucci.
The series followed elite agents Mason Kane (played by Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (portrayed by Priyanka Chopra), who lost their memories after narrowly escaping the collapse of the independent global spy agency, Citadel.
Citadel Season Two
It all happened when Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra revealed that filming for the second season of the Prime Video spy action series Citadel has been completed.
Written by David Well, the season will see Priyanka reprising her role as Nadia Sinh. Production for Season 2 finished in late November last year, with Anthony and Joe Russo serving as executive producers through their AGBO banner.
Citadel Spin-Offs
The Citadel franchise expanded with several spin-offs in non-English languages, set in regions such as India, Spain, Mexico, and Italy. The Italian series, Citadel: Diana, premiered on October 10, 2024.
Directed by Arnaldo Catinari, it featured Matilda De Angelis, Lorenzo Cervasio, Maurizio Lombardi, and Julia Piaton in prominent roles.
The Indian spin-off, Citadel: Honey Bunny, was released on November 7, 2024.
Directed by the duo Raj & DK, it starred Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the lead characters.
