Abhishek Chaubey Confirms Hindi Remake of Jigarthanda

As per the latest Bollywood news, noted film director Abhishek Chaubey has confirmed to the media about the remake of the Tamil language film Jigarthanda.

Jigarthanda happens to be a Tamil language movie and Abhishek is planning to remake the Hindi version of the film which is expected to hit the theaters by the next year only.

Abhishek Chaubey is quite a popular director who is credited for making of super hit films like Udta Punjab, Ishqiya, Sonchiriya and many others. The Hindi remake is going to be produced by none other than Sajid Nadiadwala.

While speaking to the huge media houses, Abhishek disclosed that he is currently working on the first draft of the script and will finish it as soon as possible.

This is what he revealed, “At present, I’m working with Sajid Bhai and is in the process of finishing the very first draft of the script. We are planning to announce it as soon as we complete it. Those who look curious to know about the release date of the film please note that it will be released only by the next year,” he said.

During his conversation with the media personals, Abhisek chose to present his very thoughts on the failure of Sonchiriya that he had co written with Sudip Sharma apart from giving the direction. Sonchiriya was released on March 1, 2019 starring Manon Bajpayee, Sushant Singh Rajput, Ravi Shorey and Bhumi Pednekar.

Directing a number of movies in the past, Sonchiriya is the latest film by Abhishek Chaubey. This film was initially hailed by critics, but failed to attract people to theaters.

In the response of the failure of Sonchiriya, the filmmaker had said that there are a plethora of factors that come along to make a film hit at the box office apart from its quality and the cast.

He further disclosed, “Being a film director, I always prefer the audience to come to the theaters in huge numbers. In case, this does not happen, all of us obviously have to feel bad about it. But for this film, I feel equally satisfied as those who joined back in theaters to watch the movie not only gathered in appreciable numbers but also spoke a few great things about the same”, the director said.
