Sushant started his career doing small roles in television serials. One of his top performing acts was registered in the daily soap titled Pavitra Rishta, aired between 2009-2011. He was also featured as a participant in two different reality shows.

After his initial inclination towards TV serials, he chose to enact in films. Sushant Singh Rajput was first featured in a film titled ‘Kai Po Che‘ released in the year 2013. It was a drama film and he was given a role of one of the 3 leading male performers. After the completion of this film, he received critical acclaim for his performance.

After enacting in Kai Po Che, the actor featured in a romantic comedy titled Shuddh Desi Romance, released in 2014. The film was made on a different concept where Sushant was screened as a male lead.

Although, the movie couldn’t register much name and fame at the box office, it still helped Rajput in performing roles in a different capacity. In the year 2015, the actor was featured in a detective thriller movie- Byomkesh Bakshy. Both these movies were produced under Yash Raj banner.

In the year 2016, Rajput appeared yet again in a movie dedicated to the life of cricketer M.S Dhoni- M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. The movie is better regarded as a biographical sports film directed by none other than Neeraj Pandey.

Well, this film changed the career path of the actor and he appreciated the way he essayed the character of M.S Dhoni. As expected, the film proved to be a commercial hit that helped him earn a unanimous critical acclaim.

Family Background and Education

Sushant Singh Rajput belongs to Purnia district (Bihar). He was born in Patna and even now, frequently travels the place on the occasion of Chatth Puja.

Talking about his family, Sushant has 4 siblings that include his four elder sisters and a brother. One of his sisters is based in Chandigarh and another one resides in the US. Whereas, his 3rd sister (Mitu Singh) is a cricketer who plays at the state level. His brother studies at Ramjas college.
