Abhishek Bachchan shares insights on his film Be Happy and the connections between fatherhood on screen and in real life

Abhishek Bachchan takes on another fatherly role in his upcoming film Be Happy, where he plays the father of a dance-enthusiast girl, played by Inaayat Verma.

As the film nears its release, he speaks with a leading media house regarding the project and the parallels between his real and on-screen fatherhood.

Abhishek Bachchan Mantra of Being Happy

Under the direction of Remo D’Souza, Be Happy follows a father who must learn to dance to support his daughter’s dream. However, Abhishek Bachchan admits that in real life, his daughter has never put him in such a position.

“I’ve never had to step beyond my comfort zone for her. There hasn’t been a situation where I felt, ‘This makes me uneasy, but I must do it for my child.’ Thankfully, that moment hasn’t come,” he concludes.

Abhishek Bachchan admits that he leaned on the script to develop his character and his dynamic with his on-screen daughter. “The emotions are relatable, but grasping the character’s world and psychology is essential. A well-written script really helps with that,” he shares.

Abhishek Bachchan Take On His Family Life & Stardom

The Be Happy trailer simply showcases a lighthearted bond between Abhishek Bachchan and Inaayat Verma’s characters, where the daughter doesn’t see her father as cool.

When asked if this mirrors his real-life relationship with Aaradhya, Abhishek jokingly replies, “I have a 13-year-old, so that says it all.” He adds, “What’s great is that at home, you’re just a parent.

Your profession or celebrity status doesn’t matter, you’re simply dad. I don’t see it as a reality check but as something special because that love is genuine and not influenced by what you do.”

Abhishek shares that this has been a long-standing tradition in the Bachchan family. “I did the same with my father—at home, he was always just dad, not Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.

That persona existed beyond our gates. It’s something really special, and it helps keep you grounded,” he concludes.
