The Diplomat Box Office Day 1

Following the success of Pathaan, John Abraham appears to be back at square one in the Indian box office. Here’s what The Diplomat’s Day 1 prediction reveals

To be honest, John Abraham has been one of Bollywood’s more unpredictable stars. While he has had his moments of superstardom, he has struggled to build a consistent presence at the Indian box office.

Despite being part of the record-breaking Pathaan post-COVID, his momentum quickly fizzled out. Now, with The Diplomat, his upcoming release, expectations for a strong opening on Day 1 are not high.

Has John Abraham Become Stuck In A Stereotype

John’s commanding presence on screen makes him ideal for action-packed roles, and he has proven his ability in the genre repeatedly.

However, recently, his characters have started to feel a bit too familiar. While he picks different stories, the serious nature of his roles and their focus on action remain largely unchanged.

John Abraham’s repeated choice of similar roles has led to a stereotype, diminishing the appeal of his films to a broader audience. Even the promotional content for The Diplomat failed to generate much excitement.

The Diplomat Day 1 Prediction: Early Estimates Suggest a Modest Opening for the Web Series

It’s been 3 week since The Diplomat trailer was launched. It’a basically a well-edited teaser that sparks curiosity without revealing too much.

John Abraham appears to be in great form, but the overall lack of buzz has meant the trailer hasn’t succeeded in building awareness for the film or its upcoming release.

The Diplomat will release on March 14. With the buzz surrounding Chhaava fading, there’s potential for John’s film to capture some attention. However, its Day 1 box office collection is being projected to start slow, with estimates suggesting an opening of 2 to Rs 2.5 crore net.

If The Diplomat manages to earn Rs 2-2.50 crores on its opening day, it will become John Abraham’s lowest post-COVID debut.

This would be a significant decline from Pathaan, which had an opening of 57 crores, reflecting a drop of approximately 95-96%.

Here’s a breakdown of John Abraham’s Day 1 box office collections post-COVID

  • Attack: Rs 3.51 crores
  • Satyameva Jayate: Rs 3.60 crores
  • Vedaa: Rs 6.75 crores
  • Ek Villain Returns: Rs 7.05 crores
  • Pathaan: Rs 57 crores
