Sooryavanshi Digital Release: Akshay Kumar’s action thriller Sooryavanshi will soon be available online as the digital rights of the film has been acquired by Netflix.
The makers had earlier planned to release Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer Sooryavanshi on April 30, 2021. But the entire project had to be postponed due to COVID-19 crisis.
After theaters reopened with full occupancy, the makers decided to release the film in theaters on the occasion for Diwali, November 5, 2021.
Now, as the film was released in theaters, it got a very good response from the audience. It managed to garner over Rs 100 crore within a week’s time.
While millions of Akshay Kumar fans watched the film in theaters, there are hundreds others who like to watch Sooryavanshi online.
In order to meet the demand and also to help reach the film to large audience base, the makers decided to release the film digitally as well. Take a look below for more information regarding Sooryavanshi OTT release date.
Sooryavanshi OTT Release Date
As per the reports, the digital rights of Sooryavanshi are bagged by Netflix for Rs 100 crore. It means that the film will be available for viewers online on channels like Netflix.
Reports further say that they locked the deal with huge price along with a condition. As per the condition, Sooryavanshi will be released on Netflix only after one month of its theatrical release.
As per the above contract, the digital run of Sooryavanshi will happen on Netflix from December 4, 2021 onward.
In case, you missed watching the movie in theater, you can still watch the film by visiting your nearest cinema hall. And now, you can also watch the film online on Netflix from the said date.
The makers always wanted Sooryavanshi to release in such a way to reach larger audience. And this is the reason why they have now taken a decision to release the film digitally as well.
Since Sooryavanshi has already been running successfully in theaters, it will also perform well digitally as well.
What Sooryavanshi Is All About?
Sooryavanshi happens to be the 4th film from Rohit Shetty. It features Akshay Kumar in the titular role of Veer Sooryavanshi who’s the head of anti-terrorism squad.
The interesting part of the film is that both Katrina Kaif and Akshay Kumar are uniting for this film after a gap of 11 years. Both these stars were last featured together in Tees Maar Khan (2010).
Sooryavanshi is a mega budget film that also stars Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn in their special appearances.
