Sonu Sood Receives Felicitation from UN for His Humanitarian Efforts

From the reel life hero, Sonu Sood has now become the real life hero. The transformation was done after he came forward to help thousands of people in the lockdown phase.

Sonu Sood became the first celebrity to come forward and help the poor in the distress. All this happened right after coronavirus gripped the entire nation badly.

The Bollywood star continued to work without a break and helped hundreds of people with sanitizations, masks and other such basic needs in Mumbai.

Recognizing his work for the humanity, Sonu has grabbed SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations Development Programme. After the actor has received the international honor, his name enlists among some other famous personalities like David Beckham, Angelina Jolie, Liam Neeson, Emma Watson and Leonardo DiCaprio.

It was almost an unbelievable moment for the Bollywood star after he came to know about the kind of felicitation he is going to receive directly from the UN.

In the end, it all happened through a virtual award ceremony where he received the recognition. On this special moment, this is what ha spoke, “This is a rare honor. UN recognition is very special. I have done whatever little I could, in my own humble way, for my fellow countrymen without any expectations. However, to be recognized and awarded feels good. I fully support the UNDP in its endeavors to achieve the SDGs by 2030. Planet Earth and mankind will greatly benefit from the implementation of these goals.”

After the news of him getting the award broke, all his fans started sending congratulation messages across the country and abroad.

Sonu Sood is currently shooting in Hyderabad for his upcoming film titled Alludu. He is presently shooting with his crew members Nabha Natesh, Prakash Raj and Bellamkonda Srinivas.

He was welcomed on the first day of shooting on the sets for his spectacular recognition from UN.
