Siddhant Chaturvedi’s career took off with a bang in 2019 with the film Gully Boy, where he portrayed the character of MC Sher. Despite the lead roles being played by Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, Siddhant’s performance was highly praised and he became an instant sensation.

However, his subsequent films like Bunty Aur Babli 2 (2021) and Phone Bhoot (2022) didn’t perform well at the box office.

In 2022, Gehraiyaan was released on Amazon Prime Video and gained a large viewership, though Deepika Padukone was the one who garnered more attention.

But Siddhant bounced back with Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan (2023), which was released on Netflix and received positive reviews, giving him the validation and boost he needed.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Siddhant shared his journey in the film industry and also talked about a meaningful interaction he had with Ranbir Kapoor.

Siddhant Chaturvedi shared an advice given by Ranbir Kapoor, who advised him to stay focused on his work and not to compare himself with his peers.

Siddhant recounted, “Ranbir doesn’t attend parties much, but during one of our interactions, he talked to me at length when I went to his house. I expressed my concerns about not having much going on in my career. He advised me to continue working and not to worry about what others are doing or being seen. That’s his approach.”

Siddhant also mentioned that Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were the only ones who messaged him after the release of Gehraiyaan.

Ranbir Kapoor pointed out to Siddhant Chaturvedi that actors may anticipate certain films to become classics, but that outcome is not guaranteed. Conversely, a film they do not expect much from could turn out to be a sensation. Siddhant recalled, “Ranbir believed his film Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year (2009) would be his Munna Bhai MBBS (2003)… He said, ‘The film will work when you least expect it.’ I didn’t expect much from Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan. I thought, ‘We made it for a specific target audience, and they will appreciate it.’ I didn’t anticipate that so many people would enjoy the film.”

In the same interview, Siddhant also shared the advice he received from Ayushmann Khurrana when going through a tough phase in his career. Ayushmann told him that experiencing this phase early in his career would better prepare him for similar situations in the future. He said, “‘Right now, take small steps forward, slowly and steadily.’ He also mentioned that Vicky Kaushal supported him during this time.
