Dan Scavino, a key aide to Donald Trump, recently took to social media to celebrate Kash Patel’s appointment as the new FBI director with a Bollywood-style tribute.
Patel, whose parents are of Gujarati origin, was appointed as the ninth director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation by former President Trump.
Scavino marked the occasion by sharing a scene from the popular Bollywood song Malhari from the 2015 film Bajirao Mastani. The post quickly gained traction online, sparking discussions about Bollywood’s role in global political conversations.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino shared a snippet from Malhari to celebrate Patel’s appointment. Along with the clip, he wrote, “Congratulations to the new Director of the FBI, Kash Patel.”
The lyrics of the song, “Dheere-dheere badi chali, badi chali hai…Jo thi chingaari” (That little spark has slowly grown), appeared to reflect Patel’s journey to his prestigious new role.
Scavino has used Malhari in a political context before—back in 2019, he shared a video with Donald Trump’s face superimposed onto Ranveer Singh’s performance in the song.
