Today was another crucial day for Raj Kundra as the bail plea of the businessman was to be granted by the High Court.
But the court simply rejected his bail. Although, his lawyer insisted that a number of the other accused have already granted bail and are now roaming free. He also stated that Kundra has since been co-operating with cops as well.
The lawyer of Raj Kundra will now move to the session’s court to grant a bail after this rejection.
As you might be aware of, Raj Kundra was involved in running a pornography racket and streaming such movies through his alleged app ‘HotShots’.
Kundra was first arrested by Mumbai police on July 19 and was remanded to police custody till July 27.
On July 27, when his custody came to an end, he was finally sent to 14 days judicial custody.
The course of events happened in such a way that his bail plea was to be heard on Wednesday (July 28, 2021).
But after the hearing started, the public prosecutor simply opposed the bail plea and stated that Kundra might derail the investigation (if bail is granted to him) as he’s an influential person. To oppose the statement given by the public prosecutor, Kundra’s lawyer replied, “Is he a terrorist?”
Later, Kundra’s lawyer also pleaded that a charge sheet in this case has already been out and many of the accused are already roaming on bail.
To this, the prosecutor objected and stated that Kundra happens to be a key conspirator in this case. This is how the bail plea of both Kundra and his associate Ryan Thorpe was rejected.
As we mentioned above, the Raj Kundra case is taking turn with each passing day, Kundra has to face some more problems. It’s because a fresh FIR was lodged against the actress Gehana Vashishth. The FIR is lodged on the charges of robbery.
Kundra had appealed in the High Court against his arrest. But he didn’t get any relief from the court following which his hope resides on session court once again.
