Raj Kundra had to bear another setback when he came to know that his bail application in the Bombay High Court has been rejected.

While giving its verdict, the court stated that there is no need to change the order passed by the metropolitan magistrate.

It all happened when Raj Kundra filed a plea in the Bombay High Court for his immediate release from the judicial custody. Kundra was arrested in connection to creating and distributing pornographic material through various mobile apps.

Raj Kundra is the husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty who was arrested by the Crime Branch last month. Since then he’s facing trial in different courts.

Kundra had earlier challenged his remand order given by a metropolitan magistrate.

While challenging the order, Kundra stated that he should be released immediately as he was not served with any kind of summons or notification before his arrest which comes under the code of criminal procedure.

While hearing Kundra’s case, the magistrate noticed that there were no flaws in the judgement given by the metropolitan magistrate when he had remanded Kundra to police custody.

Rejecting his application, the judge AS Gadkari stated that both his judicial custody and remand fell within the proximity of law and therefore didn’t require any sort of interference.

As per the Mumbai police, they had issued a notice to Kundra before his arrest but he didn’t accept it.

Both Raj Kundra and his associate Ryan Thorpe were arrested on July 19 for their alleged involvement in the production and distribution of porn material through mobile apps.

Against his arrest, Kundra argued that the material he served can’t fall in the category of porn as similar kind of material already exist on different OTT platforms.

As per reports, police has loads of evidences against Kundra and his associates. The sleuths of Mumbai crime branch said that both of them were also involved in deleting messages from a WhatsApp group. And this directly falls under the appropriate section of destroying evidence.

The police has also found a WhatsApp group in the mobile of Kundra. The group was loaded with chats and other material. It also included a presentation regarding their future marketing strategies for Hotshots (mobile app).

It’s the same app through which Kundra used to distribute pornographic content.
