Raj Kundra Pornography Case: Court Denies Bail to Kundra & Extends Hearing

Raj Kundra is currently in the judicial custody for creating and streaming porn content through various apps. He’s also charged with betting which is illegal in India.

The latest in this case happened when the police opposed the bail plea of Kundra on Tuesday stating that if he gets bail, he is likely to destroy some crucial evidences and hamper the investigation.

Police further told the court that this will circulate a wrong message to the society and the chances are that the culprit will again indulge committing such illegal crimes.

On the other hand, Kundra’s plea mentioned that a charge sheet has already been filed by police in the month of April and his name was not there in the charge sheet itself. Also, the original FIR didn’t relate to him in the case as well.

The plea also stated that all those named in the charge sheet are already roaming on bail. This is what the plea of Kundra further added, “The entire order is based on conjectures and surmises and deserves to be set aside. The magistrate failed to appreciate that there is no material against the applicant to even show his alleged involvement in the alleged offence, it said.

In reply, the police stated that they are still to investigate from where all the videos are uploaded. Police is still investigating the case with full dignity as the crime is of serious nature.

The Mumbai police tried to make the case stronger in the eyes of the court by stating that Kundra is the relative of an absconding accused Pradeep Bakshi. And if he is granted bail, the chances are likely that he will again communicate with Bakshi and help him evade the ongoing probe.

Likewise, Kundra may also escape outside the country as he’s having a British passport. After hearing all the inputs from police, the court decided to extend hearing on August 20.
