‘Moon Knight’ Writer Jeremy Slater Roped In to Write ‘Mortal Kombat 2’

As per the latest Hollywood news, Hollywood studio New Line is known to have started working on a new project. The studio is currently working on a sequel to its recently released film titled ‘Mortal Kombat’ (2021).

The studio has hired none other than Jeremy Slater who was previously employed to work on the upcoming series titled ‘Moon Knight’. He’s slated to write ‘Mortal Kombat 2’.

This is what Slater tweeted, “Beyond excited to be joining this team! We’re building something bigger and better and bloodier that’s going to blow people’s minds,” he wrote.

 

In the past, he’s known to have worked on some famous scripts like ‘Uprising’ with Travis Knight directing. Currently, he’s adapting adapting Stephen King’s ‘The Tommyknockers’ for James Wan and Universal.

He’s also credited to have developed ‘The Umbrella Academy’. He was also the co-showrunner of ‘The Exorcist’ on Fox.

‘Mortal Kombat’ was released in theaters by Warner Bros in 2021. The film was actually based on the video game phenomenon created by John Tobias and Ed Boon.

The film had starred an ensemble cast including Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Joe Taslim, Josh Lawson, Jessica McNamee and Lewis Tan in their respective pivotal roles. The film was directed by Simon McQuoid.
