Margot Robbie Responds to Oscars Snub for ‘Barbie’: The Audience’s Feedback Emerges as the Ultimate Recognition for the Film.

In the face of the Oscar snub, Margot Robbie maintains optimism and gratitude for ‘Barbie’s’ eight nominations. Robbie perceives the film’s significance as extending beyond individual acknowledgments, underscoring its cultural influence.

She recognizes the absence of Greta Gerwig in the Best Director category and commends Gerwig for her extraordinary accomplishment.

Margot Robbie, the prominent actress and producer of ‘Barbie,’ has now responded to the highly contentious Oscar snub.

Margot Robbie has broken her silence regarding the Oscar snub for ‘Barbie.’ Addressing the nominations, which notably omitted both herself and Greta Gerwig, and the ensuing social media uproar, the actor expressed the belief that Greta should have been included in the Best Director category. According to Variety, Margot made this statement during a SAG-AFTRA discussion with her ‘Barbie’ co-stars.

Margot Robbie: No way to feel sad

She said, as per Variety, “Feeling incredibly blessed, there’s no room for sadness. I genuinely believe Greta deserves a directorial nomination; what she accomplished is a once-in-a-career, once-in-a-lifetime feat. It’s truly remarkable. Despite the absence of certain nominations, it’s been an amazing year for all the films. I am beyond ecstatic.

‘Barbie’ secured nominations in eight categories. Notably, Ryan Gosling is in the running for Best Supporting Actor, and America Ferrera has earned a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

The film has also garnered nods in prestigious categories such as Best Picture, Adapted Screenplay (credited to Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach), Costume Design, Production Design, and Best Original Song (specifically for “I’m Just Ken” and “What Was I Made For?”).

Margot Robbie on Oscar nominations

“The acknowledgment everyone has received through the nominations is truly incredible, especially the nod for Best Picture. Our initial goal was to create something that would influence and shape culture, leaving a significant impact.

It has surpassed our expectations, and that, in itself, is the most significant reward. The reactions of people to the movie have been the ultimate highlight of this entire journey, whether it’s the online discussions or simply observing the abundance of pink in this room right now.

I’ve been part of various projects, including comic book adaptations that garnered significant reactions, but this experience feels uniquely different. It still holds that distinct quality. I can’t recall a time when a movie had such a profound effect on culture, and being at the center of it is truly amazing.” Margot added.
