Latha Rajinikanth, the spouse of Tamil icon Rajinikanth, has spoken out about the alleged cheating case related to the Tamil film Kochadaiiyaan.

In conversation with ANI, Latha Rajinikanth expressed, “To me, this is a matter of humiliation, harassment, and the exploitation faced by a public figure. This is the cost we bear for being in the limelight. Sometimes, a minor issue gets sensationalized. There’s no deceit involved. The financial matters reported don’t concern me; they’re between Media One and the relevant parties. They’ve resolved it, and it’s their issue. As a guarantor, I ensured their payment was made.

It all happened in the month of October when the Supreme Court reinstated charges against Latha Rajinikanth in a legal matter. It resolved SLP(Crl) No. 9818/2022 and SLP(Crl.) No. 8327/2022 by reinstating the final report. However, it granted the petitioner(s) in SLP(Crl.) No. 8327/2022 the freedom to file an appropriate application for discharge if desired.

The court clarified that if such an application is submitted by the petitioner(s), the previous findings would not obstruct the Trial Court’s proceedings. The physical presence of the accused would be waived unless necessitated by the Trial Court.

The court emphasized it hadn’t expressed any opinion on the case’s merits and encouraged the parties to consider resolution, potentially through mediation.

For context, Ad Bureau Advertising Pvt Ltd, based in Chennai, filed a cheating case against Latha Rajinikanth, alleging her involvement in a financial dispute linked to the 2014 film. The complainant claimed to have lent Rs. 10 crore to Media One, a film production company, with Latha Rajinikanth purportedly acting as a guarantor.
