The Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) has expanded with each film, starting from Kaithi (2019) with Karthi, followed by Vikram (2022) starring Kamal Haasan, and Leo (2023) featuring Vijay.

With every installment achieving greater success, anticipation is high for the next chapter in the franchise.

Karthi officially announced Kaithi 2 on social media, posting a photo with director Lokesh Kanagaraj and producer S. R. Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures.

His caption, “DILLI RETURNS. Let it be another fantastic year,” confirmed the sequel, though details about the plot and filming schedule remain under wraps.

About Kaithi (2019)

The plot of Kaithi (2019) basically revolves around a single father, recently released from prison, who collaborates with the police in a tense race against time to reach a police station under siege and secure seized narcotics.

The film stars Deepthi, Amzath Khan, Suryakanth, Dheena, Kanna Ravi, Hareesh Peradi, George Maryan, Harish Uthaman, Narain, Arjun Das, Karthi, among others in pivotal role.

The film Kaithi (2019) boasts a score by Sam C.S., stunning cinematography from Sathyan Sooryan, art direction by Satheesh Kumar, and editing by Philomin Raj.

It was produced by Tiruppur Vivek, S.R. Prabhu, and S.R. Prakashbabu under the banners of Vivekananda Pictures and Dream Warrior Pictures.
