A twitter poll was conducted to ascertain the most inspiring films of 2016. A total of 1,342 votes had cast, out of which 41% votes had gone in the favor of Dear Zindagi.

However, Aamir Khan’s Dangal stood first in the race with as much as 46% vote share.

It clearly shows the kind of neck to neck competition between the two blockbuster films. Among others were Neerja (Sonam Kapoor) and Akira (Sonakshi Sinha).

Both these films managed to sweep only 8% and 5% of vote share respectively. The results also show how Sonam Kapoor is lagging behind Alia Bhatt both in terms of polls and awards.

International women’s day- More films should be made reflecting women’s issues

Aamir Khan’s Dangal topped the charts not only because of the film or Aamir Khan but also due to the characters present in the film.

So, the credit goes to the entire unit, including the leading casts and some debutants like Fatima Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra.

The movie is actually a biopic and revolves around an Indian wrestler by the name Mahavir Singh Phogat.

It’s a classic example to show the level of trust a father has for his daughters. On the basis of the level of confidence, Mahavir decided to go ahead with his daughters in the journey of making them world’s best wrestlers.

He was also successful in making the country feel proud of his daughters Geeta and Babita. As the poll conducted on international women’s day, more films should be made reflecting women’s issues.

The film largely shows both women and men are equal and no women should be considered less than a man.

The movie, directed by none other than Nitesh Tiwari won a plethora of awards and recognition and collected Rs 716.35 Crores worldwide. The film became the 2nd highest grossing movie at the box office.
