Bollywood Raids: I-T Department Affirms to Have Enough Proof of Evasion

The raids carried out by the Income Tax (I.T) department on film producer Anurag Kashyap and Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu continued on the second day as well.

By looking at the level of fraud made by them, it looks like more action is bound to be taken in the coming time.

It’s mainly because the statement released by the Income Tax Department has clearly mentioned that they have found major discrepancies of amount worth over Rs 300 crore that are stated to be linked to an already dissolved production house owned by none other than Anurag Kashyap. As per the statement released by the IT cell, it clearly stated without taking the names of anyone that they have already recovered an evidence of cash receipts from a leading Bollywood actress worth Rs 5 crore.

Not only that, the IT department sleuths have also recovered as many bogus expenditures that are shown to be linked to the leading Bollywood director worth Rs 20 crore. Well, this is what the statement released by the department says, “Evidence of cash receipts by the leading actress amounting to Rs 5 crore has been recovered. Apart from this, non-genuine/bogus expenditure to related concerns by the leading producers/director having tax implication of about Rs 20 crore has been detected. Similar findings have been made in the case of the leading actress also.”

It all happened when the Income Tax department got a clue of some major tax discrepancies after which they issued notices to them. IT sleuths then started questioning both Kashyap and Pannu in Pune hotel where both of them were busy shooting for a movie.
