The entire nation received the shocking news of Vinod Khanna death today. No doubt, it’s a great loss, not only to Bollywood but to the entire country. He was the original heartthrob of Indian film industry who took his last breath this morning after battling with cancer for last some years. He was 70.
As you know, the actor had already admitted to a hospital in the month of April after receiving complaints of severe dehydration, his condition continued to deteriorate since then. As per hospital sources, who claimed the actor is going stable, but in spite of that, he had become frail during the course of his hospitalization. The actor was finally brought and admitted to the Girgaum hospital in the month of March.

Today, the hospital released its official bulletin (on Vinod Khanna death) that said the veteran actor and former MP (from Gurdaspur), Mr. Vinod Khanna took his last breath at 11.20 am due to advanced bladder carcinoma.
The great veteran actor was suffering from carcinoma of bladder that was developed in an advanced stage. The sources say that he had developed the disease for the last two years. Due to his ailment, he suffered from extreme dehydration and continued to become frail, while still admitted to the hospital. As per the initial reports from the hospital, the veteran actor had responded well to the treatment. But today, the situation went out of control and he took his last breath.
The 70 year old veteran actor was earlier admitted to the HN Reliance Hospital for almost a month. Afterwards, his condition further deteriorated and then he was shifted to a Girgaum hospital in the month of March. During this time, a picture of him was leaked in social media that shocked the entire nation. He looked too weak in the picture and was hardly recognizable.

The hospital released its notification after Vinod Khanna death. As the news of his demise spread in the morning, entire Bollywood came to a standstill.
Khanna had a long Bollywood career and worked in over 100 films. At the same time, he was also an active politician and former MP from Gurdaspur, Punjab.
The veteran actor was survived by his wife- Kavita Khanna, two sons (Rahul and Akshay) and two daughters (Sakshi and Shraddha). Vinod was earlier married to Geteanjali before marrying to Kavita. But their first marriage couldn’t do well and they divorced.
If we discuss the early life of this great veteran film actor, we must say that he was one of the most sought actors during 1970-1980. He looked so young and dashing but was offered negative roles in the beginning of his career. But then, he tried his luck and soon became the main stream actor.
In the year 1968, he made his debut with a film titled Mann Ka Meet and then got a chance to enact in a plethora of other films like Mera Gaon Mera Desh, Inkaar, Qurbani, Amar Akbar Anthony and many others. He was much appreciated in all the films listed here.
The veteran actor received the Filmfare award in the category of best supporting actor in his film Haath Ki Safai. Not only this, he also received the Lifetime Filmfare Achievement Award in 1999.
