E commerce giants Amazon and Flipkart have gone through tremendous sales on the first day of their respective campaigns.
Looking at the festive season, they had earlier projected to have great sales on the occasion of Navratries.
To their surprise, they recorded mind blowing sales over the weekend.
The most amazing part of this campaign was that both Amazon and Flipkart managed to attract huge number of customers towards their products in a significant way.
This Sunday, Flipkart and Amazon started their mission to attract millions of customers on their products.
There are different categories of products that they had earlier projected and planned to give away lucrative offers to the customers.
At this time, it looks like they managed to achieve the target sales that they had projected over the weekend.
Amazon’s ‘Great Indian Festival’ and Flipkart’s ‘Big Billion Days’ began this Sunday. On the opening day itself, Amazon confirmed a huge sale up to $7.07 within a period of 36 hours in the category of premium smart phones.
In the same ways, Flipkart also recorded the same number of sales to mark the beginning of festive season in the country.
Talking about Amazon, the eCommerce giant started a campaign titled Amazon Great Indian Festival this Sunday that went live for 12 hours. Initially, the campaign was only for the prime members but then later it was opened for normal customers as well.
The most number of sales the company registered was in the category of latest smart phones like Samsung, Apple and OnePlus.
In the same ways, the sale grew up to millions in the category of grocery and fashion. Both these categories of products recorded a huge percentage of revenue over the entire weekend.
“We are quite amazed to look at the response from our customers in the 36 hour window of our great Indian festival. At the same time, we are pleased to see the huge participation from digital Bharat. The most attractive part of this campaign was none other than more sign ups than ever. And that too, happened from small towns. It shows the level of participation from the proud citizens of our nation,” as said by the Country Head and Global Senior VP, Amazon India.
