Adam Sandler has shared the latest on Happy Gilmore 2 filming and offered a peek at how a particular insider is reacting to the new script.
It all happened on Tuesday when he posted an Instagram photo of his bulldog, Bagel, resting on a copy of the screenplay, which features the dog’s name. Two golf balls are placed nearby, and Sandler captioned the image, “Going good so far.”
Kyle Newacheck is at the helm of Netflix’s sequel, featuring Margaret Qualley and Bad Bunny, along with returning actors like Christopher McDonald and Julie Bowen from the original film. Moreover, Travis Kelce is set to make a cameo appearance.

The original Happy Gilmore, which centers on Sandler’s unconventional golfer famous for his powerful drives, premiered in February 1996 under Universal Pictures.
Directed by Dennis Dugan, who also serves as an executive producer for the sequel, this sports comedy became a beloved classic.
Happy Gilmore 2 commenced filming in New Jersey on September 9, which was also Sandler’s 58th birthday. On that same day, he joined the hosts Peyton and Eli Manning on ESPN 2’s ManningCast.
During the broadcast, Sandler revealed to the Manning brothers, “We just kicked off shooting that movie today. It was fantastic and a lot of fun.” He also advised Peyton Manning on how to nail his character’s unique running golf swing, suggesting, “I use a three-step or a four-step drop.”
Back in 2015, it was reported that a sequel to Happy Gilmore appeared unlikely at the time. He reflected on Sandler’s possible return, saying, “I can’t see him doing that, but it’s Hollywood, so you can never rule anything out.”
