It all happened when the Tony award makers announced new policies to handle such incidents. This was communicated to ticket buyers yesterday.

Tony Awards to Introduce ‘No Violence’ Policy Ahead of 2022 Show
The incident shocked the entire audience. Although, Smith later apologized about his actions not only to the comedian but also the Academy, he has been banned from the Oscars and other related events for a decade.
Following the incident, Tony awards will have all the procedures to handle an individual. The upcoming Tony Awards show will follow a no-violence policy after the Oscars incident happened on March 27.
Ahead of the upcoming event, this is what the producers wrote, “The Tony Awards has a strict no violence policy.” it said.
“In the event of an incident, the perpetrator will be removed from the event immediately,” the letter further read.
The new policy at the Tony Awards show have been introduced in addition to the normal set of rules that include dress code, seating arrangement and vaccination which will be required for all who attend the upcoming New York event.
The Tony Awards show will take place on Sunday, June 12.
