Ranbir Kapoor’s Stellar Performance Merits a Superior Film; Animal Movie Review Lays Blame on Sandeep Reddy Vanga

Animal Movie Review: “It’s Animal Day today, marking a film destined for the annals of history as a masterclass in professional marketing. The movie banks heavily on an ‘Alpha Male’ aura, a potent weapon to forge initial buzz. Yet, beyond the first Monday, it’s the substance that truly counts. Does Sandeep Reddy Vanga retain the entertainment essence reminiscent of his Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh phase? Let’s delve into an analysis!

At the halfway mark, here are some preliminary thoughts on where the film might be heading.

Animal Movie Review: Sandeep Reddy Vanga Amplifies Kabir Singh With Ranbir Kapoor, But Not in a Positive Light

Introducing Ranvijay Singh (Ranbir Kapoor), whose life’s pursuit revolves around earning validation from his father, Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor). However, the elusive commendation never arrives, courtesy of Balbir’s preoccupation with overseeing the multimillion-dollar Swastik Oil empire.

As a wealthy scion, Balbir faces imminent threats due to entanglements typical of a prosperous magnate. Ranvijay’s unresolved paternal yearning propels him towards a primal, animalistic existence.”

In just the first half of the film, it’s apparent that Sandeep Reddy Vanga has absorbed the criticism of Kabir Singh and taken a drastic turn.

The shift is so extreme that it compels the lead to utter lines like “You have a big pelvis that can accommodate healthy babies” to someone he might potentially marry upon their initial meeting.

The narrative seems to rely on a familiar framework of a wealthy father-son dynamic, threats from adversaries, and a quest for vengeance, all wrapped in a stylish presentation backed by a pulsating soundtrack.

The relentless focus on showcasing masculinity in every scene becomes overwhelming and detracts from the storyline, reminiscent of a bygone era and lacking substance without Ranbir Kapoor’s presence.

Ranbir Kapoor’s performance is commendable, but it deserved a more substantial storyline. Sandeep Reddy Vanga seems to have steered away from passion for the character, veering towards egomania.

The film appears as a response to the criticisms of Arjun Reddy/Kabir Singh rather than an earnest attempt to deliver compelling entertainment. It’s disheartening, but the truth, and I’ll delve deeper into my full review. Stay tuned for more updates in this space!
