Master Raaghavan Confirms the Role of Aishwarya Rai in Ponniyin Selvan

The shooting for Mani Ratnam’s dream project Ponniyin Selvan  has resumed again. Earlier there was a major confusion regarding the film’s cast but now it seems that everything is settled.

As per the reports, Aishwarya Rai joined the sets of Ponniyin Selvan in Pondicherry last week and resumed the shooting for the film.

The confirmation of the above was made by Master Raaghavan Murugan of ‘Bhaskar Oru Rascal’, ‘Maari 2’, and ‘Sethupathi’ fame.

Master Raaghavan is also a part of the cast who confirmed her role in the film.

Today, Master Raghwan confirmed that Aish will play the role of Nandhini and he will play the role of Pandiya kingdom in the much awaited Ponniyin Selvan.

He not only confirmed the role of Aish in the film but also didn’t forget to get some selfies with the charming Bollywood actress.

Raghwan chose to re-share the Instagram story of a fan that had mentioned her as Nandini. This is what he posted while sharing his pictures with Aishwarya Rai, “With @aishwaryaraibachchan_arb mam at the break of #ponniyinselvan shoot and that was a great experience acting with her.” (sic)


Ponniyin Selvan is basically a historical drama and has a long cast. The Tamil language film will be made in different languages.

It’s story is based on the novel by Kalki Krishnamoorthy. The star cast of Ponniyin Selvan includes Ashwin Kakumama, Prabhu, Jayaram, Vikram Prabhu, Sobhita Dhulipala, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai and Vikram in their respective pivotal roles.

It’s produced by Madras Talkies along with Lyca Productions. The best part about this film is that music is composed by AR Rahman.
