A Month Post-Release, It Ends With Us Still Shattering Box Office Records

The adaptation of “It Ends With Us” starring Colleen Hoover has become the 2nd highest-grossing romantic drama of the past decade, trailing only behind 2018’s A Star Is Born.

Starring Blake Lively, it surpassed the 2014 film The Fault in Our Stars in earnings, achieving this remarkable milestone just a month after its global release.

It Ends With Us Opens at $50 Million, Outperforming Where the Crawdads Sing and Little Women.

After the film completed a month since its release, it managed to grab $310 million globally. It even managed to overtake 20th Century Fox’s 2014 romantic drama The Fault in Our Stars, that grossed around $307.2 million.

The above number positions the film to become the 2nd highest grossing romantic drama of the decade, with 2018’s Oscar-nominated A Star Is Born still at the top with $436.4 million worldwide.

It Ends With Us has also surpassed the box office takings of several popular female-centric films from recent years, including Anyone But You ($220.2 million), the 2018 romantic comedy-drama Crazy Rich Asians ($239.3 million).

The makers are known to have managed to generate the film’s budget 12 times at the global box office. It’s now $8 million short of reaching $150 million in domestic earnings.

Given its ongoing success, including nearly $500K earned on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, it is projected to hit this milestone before its theatrical run ends.
