In the 4th installment of the Bridget Jones series, Hugh Grant’s character Daniel Cleaver reunites with Renee Zellweger’s Bridget, giving speculation regarding a rekindled romance.
As per the recent update on this, the character of Colin Firth has been removed. And this has created space for new romantic interests in the next installment of the Bridget Jones series, to hit theaters next Valentine’s Day.

The ‘Bridget Jones’ Diary’ series is currently making a lot of noise. It recently became a reason for treat for fans to treat as Hugh Grant’s irresistible character, Daniel Cleaver.
It makes a comeback! Renee Zellweger, returning as the iconic Bridget Jones, was spotted on set alongside Grant. Images leaked from the shoot hint at a potential rekindling of their romance.
It all happened when a few pictures taken in Hampstead depict Grant looked as suave as ever, seamlessly embodying the role of the charismatic playboy.
The speculation raised after the Grant dressed in a navy suit, was photographed getting cozy with Zellweger, his arm around her neck, seemingly leaning in for a kiss.
The experienced actor was observed conversing with 2 young children, speculated to be portraying either his or Bridget’s offspring.
Colin Firth, who’s also known for his memorable role as Mark Darcy, the father of Bridget’s child, will not be returning for this sequel as his character has been written out.
Hugh Grant’s return as Daniel Cleaver follows earlier speculation about his character’s death in a plane crash. Fortunately, it was confirmed in 2016 that Cleaver is alive and able to make a comeback in the new film.
As per the latest update, the upcoming film is bound to introduce some fresh talent, such as Leo Woodall from “One Day” and Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Now, there is again speculation that Woodall, aged 27, will take on the role of Bridget’s new romantic interest. Further, the plot introduces two other potential suitors for Bridget: Roxster, a 30-year-old toy boy, and Mr. Wallaker, her children’s teacher. With Hugh Grant’s character also causing a stir, fans can expect a complex dynamic with more than just a simple love triangle.
