An Elden Ring player points out about bosses in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC could have flawed hitboxes, while increasing their difficulty levels. The challenge posed by Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has been a point of contention since its release, and despite attempts by the developers to make adjustments, players are still encountering issues.

Commander Gaius stands out to be the most disliked bosses in the Elden Ring DLC. While dealing with mounted bosses is typically challenging, Commander Gaius further complicates matters with his unconventional hitboxes.

The fight suffers from familiar Soulsborne camera issues. Interestingly, it appears that Commander Gaius is not the sole boss in the game potentially affected by broken hitboxes.

Elden Ring shines a spotlight on numerous remarkable female characters during the Tarnished’s journey through the Lands Between.

As per Elden Ring subreddit, user nmunro14 confirms many players had suspected. They demonstrate that their health bar decreases before the boss’s attacks land.

What looks surprising that the above issue isn’t limited to just one boss fight, such as the Divine Beast Dancing Lion, it also affects encounters like Rellana, Twin Moon Knight.

Players even point out that during the Divine Beast Dancing Lion fight, damage occurs even when the boss’s head is at a distance from the character.

The comment section was full of feedbacks from the users. It pointed out the issue diminished the enjoyment of boss encounters, shifting the focus towards premature dodging.

While timing remains crucial, relying on visual cues becomes impractical.

The player mainly emphasizes that dodging Rellana’s Carian Sovereignty in the Elden Ring DLC requires extremely early timing, contrasting with the mechanics of bosses in the base game.

Elden Ring Players Are Comparing DLC With Dark Souls 2

There are a bunch of players who have managed to get the game to next level. To be precise, these players have likened the Elden Ring DLC to a version of Dark Souls 2, known to be its problematic physics and hitboxes.

Adding to the argument that this detracts from the game’s enjoyment, another fan notes that the same applies to delayed attacks. Several bosses in Elden Ring feature attacks with noticeable delays, leading players to inadvertently dodge too early.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

Shadow of the Erdtree happens to be the first DLC expansion for FromSoftware’s groundbreaking game Elden Ring.

The above expansion transports players to a completely new region known as the Land of Shadow, offering a new storyline for the Tarnished to experience.
