IPL 2022 is already underway and we are witnessing some great matches. In the recently held match of Chennai Super Kings vs Punjab Kings, Punjab’s team registered an emphatic 54 run victory over CSK.

Thanks to some power strokes played by Liam Livingstone who actually justified his price tag of Rs 11.50 crore. While Livingstone played great strokes, rookie seamer Vaibhav Arora wondered everyone with his bowling spell. The IPL match was held in Mumbai on Sunday.

Livingstone managed to shine all around with his excellent knock of 60 which he made after playing a mere 32 balls. On the other hand Chennai Super Kings (CSK) made a comeback in the slog overs and restricting their opponents led by Mayank Agarwal to 180 for 8 after 20 overs.

As the match continued, many other players started to show their talent. And one of them was Himachal Pradesh seam bowler Arora who managed to dismiss Moeen Ali and Robin Uthappa resulting CSK to restrict only at 126 in 18 overs while having their chase.

Livingstone not only performed well with his batting but also with his bowling. In his short spell of 3 overs, he managed to dismiss two crucial players in the 20 over IPL match.

This is the 3rd defeat of CSK in the IPL matches. It looks like the team will only manage to bounce back after a grand comeback of Deepak Chahar. But for now, things are going all the way in the hands of skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni who represent the ‘Yellow Brigade’.

It’s because CSK will be in a huge pressure once it goes into some more defeats. Currently, CSK is under huge pressure to perform.

During the match of CSK Vs PBKS, it looked as if Arora managed to get a great support from his teammate Arshdeep Singh (2/13 in 2 overs) which happened during the initial phase of the match.

Arora simply followed the tactics of pitching full length deliveries while gaining away seam movement occasionally.

In the same way, we also witnessed how Uthappa managed to flick a ball while Moeen only managed to drag a ball just outside the off onto his stumps. The same happened to skipper Ravindra Jadeja who also sacrificed his wicket due to lack of feet movement.

CSK Vs PBKS Highlights: Livingstone Contribute to Punjab’s Win Against CSK

It was CSK that registered 36 runs after losing 5 wickets. But the match turned around after the arrival of Shivam who made 57 off 30 balls. Before him, Dhoni made 23 off 28 balls

The CSK Vs PBKS match held on Sunday was turned around after Livingstone managed to claim the wicket of Dube with his away going delivery. On another occasion, he had to dive off his own bowling to claim the wicket of Dwayne Bravo.

In the entire match of CSK Vs PBKS, Livingstone showed his class of batting. Before his destruction with his bowling spell, he became one of the most destructive T20 batters in the IPL matches. He smashed 4’s and 6’s at equal time intervals on all sides of the ground. He made 5 fours and sixes with his bat.

By analyzing the match of CSK Vs PBKS, it clearly looked as Dhony missed Deepak Chahar badly as Mukesh Choudhary (4-0-52-1) had to pay dearly for his inexperience with the ball.

The IPL match witnessed a number of 100 meter sixes off length balls making Livingstone to play as many huge shots over the boundary by disturbing the overall line and length of Bravo. He played some extraordinary shots that saw how thick edges went over the boundary making CSK bowlers clueless.

We also witnessed Bravo coming under pressure as he sent Dhoni to stand up to the stumps mainly to prevent Livingstone smashing all the way. But this strategy from Bravo couldn’t bring desired results for Bravo.

Another thing that might have disappointed Dhoni is that CSK gave away a mere 71 runs in the back-10. And the credit goes to some of their bowlers like Chris Jordan (4-0-23-2), Dwayne Bravo (3-0-32-1) and Dwaine Pretorius (4-0-30-2) who delivered some great spells.

The PBKS second innings witnessed a 55 dot balls. Both Livingstone and Shikhar Dhawan (33 off 24 balls) managed to add another 95 runs for the partnership of 3rd wicket which happened within 8.4 overs. And this is when it looked like the team would easily surpass 200 runs haul on the scoreboard.

By the time Dhawan was made to play Bravo’s slower deliveries, Punjab had already laid the platform as the team managed to score 109 runs in the first 10 overs.

But after the dismissal of Livingstone, PBKS couldn’t maintain the same momentum. But still, they managed to prove their worth in the team.
