Aanandham Vilayadum Veedu Team Seeks Legal Action Against Piracy

Film piracy is a serious issue prevalent in Tamil cinema. Although, the entire entertainment industry is dealing with this menace, Tamil film industry has been the recent target.

It all happened when the team of the recently released Tamil film Aanandham Vilayadum Veedu starring Saravanan, Cheran and Gowtham Karthik had to face piracy issues.

In order to seek legal help against piracy, the makers of action drama Aanandham Vilayadum Veedu formally lodged a complaint against some torrent sites, telegram groups and website owners for illegally uploading their content without their permission.

The team moved a step forward after meeting with the Police Commissioner in Chennai.

As per a copy of letter that circulated in social media, the makers stressed that they have not sold their film’s right to any third party and uploading their content illegally was not something they would appreciate.

This is what the statement read, “Post the release of the movie we could see lot of websites, telegram groups and torrent sites are illegally uploading our content online. We are the rightful owner of the digital rights and we haven’t sold our rights to any company or individual.”

The statement further adds, “Our movie is welcomed by the family audience and these illegal activities are hurting our box office collections and would affect not only me as a producer and the people toiled hard to bring out a movie which would be liked and accepted by the general public.

Such an activity continues to affect hundreds of workers who are attached with film industry and earn their livehood. Aanandham Vilayadum Veedu is directed by Nandha Periyasamy and released on December 24, 2021.
